What will await the girls in episode 3?

The camera pans over a large warehouse, nothing like the picturesque English Village where the show has thus-far taken place. 

Chanhee is standing outside of the warehouse on his own little platform, waiting while an array of black vans pull up and the contestants filter out.

"Good morning, contestants!" Chanhee says brightly as all the girls join him. "Are you ready for your first bonus round?"

"Bonus round?" the excited whisper travels through the girls.

"What did he say?" Mizu is heard whispering in Japanese.

"While singing and dancing and rapping are certainly amongst the chief jobs of an idol, they are not the only skills one must have in order to thrive," Chanhee says. 

He moves to a table with props and quickly jumps through several poses with some items while a photographer shoots his image.

He laughs a little bashfully at his own display before picking the thread back up. "From comeback teasers to magazine pictorials to season's greetings to product endorsements. If you debut you will spend many days in front of a different sort of camera as well. This challenge will measure if you are up to that task."

── ⋆⋅💬⋅⋆ ──

"Of course, a photoshoot challenge!" Moon Taeri┋🐦┋looks excited in her interview. "I've done plenty of these so I hope I'll have an advantage."

"I am very nervous," Chau┋🕊️┋says. "I've never been very good at being in front of the camera... I've really never done anything like this before."

"Oh I love doing photoshoots!" Han Sunwoo┋🐦┋says. "It's one of the things I really miss! I'm going to have so much fun."

"I used to be a model when I was a child!" Kaneko Mizu┋🦚┋claps her hands together. "Oh, I am very excited!"

── ⋆/💬⋅⋆ ──

"Of course, this is still a competition, and so things can't be quite so simple as get styled and pose," Chanhee says with a grin. "You will then be tasked with styling yourself and directing your own shoot!"

The camera pans through the warehouse to show a variety of sets set up inside with an array of props. Not far from the warehouse is a lush park with various cameras and lighting equipment stations set up. In the front of the warehouse are racks upon racks of outfits are ready.

"A stylist will help you with makeup and dressing and whatever set you choose has a photographer who will help you direct the poses, but the creative decisions are all yours." He claps his hands. "One more thing! In the order of your previous ranks, you will get to choose an opponent. The public will get to vote for the winners of each matchup, and each winner will receive 5 extra points and, more importantly, a special advantage in the next round."

 "Bonus points and and advantage!" Eto Mariya┋🕊️┋has a fire burning in her eyes. She hits a fist onto the other palm. "I must win this benefit."

── ⋆⋅/💬⋅⋆ ──

"Alright!" Chanhee continues MCing. "Moon Ara, why don't you step up here and challenge your opponent."

Ara beams with pride at being called first as she steps up next to Chanhee. She looks over the girls. "I will challenge... Eto Mariya."

The other girls oooohhh at the challenge as Mariya steps up. She flips her hair playfully. "Picked by the top dog," she says. "Game recognises game."

Ara smiles. "You have a lot of grace," she says. "But I have creative vision."

Mariya grins. "It is on like Donkey Kong, Moon."

"Ara, I want you to stand on one side," Chanhee says. "Mariya, please wait on the other side. Next up to choose is Noh Raon! Who shall you challenge?" 

In the crowd Iseul gasps.

"The top 2 are both Corvus," Lee Iseul┋🦢┋says in her interview. "That means none of the other team's first placers got more points that Corvus' second place. They are truly something else."

── ⋆⋅/💬⋅⋆ ──

Raon steps up, filled with confidence. "I don't want an easy victory," she says. "I will choose Tsukumo Kaida."

The smallest smile plays on Kaida's lips. "Little old me?" she asks innocently. "Are you a little threatened?"

── ⋆⋅💬⋅⋆ ──

"I think some people will choose to challenge strategically and pick those they think they can easily beat," Noh Raon┋🐦┋says. "But if I win I want to win from the best."

"It's a bold play," Tsukumo Kaida┋🦢┋says. "I respect it and I shall not make it easy. After that Heartbeat stage, I'd be lying if I said I minded seeing a bit more of her. Even sweeter to beat her at her own game."

Woo Chanhee himself shudders in an interview section. "These girls take their psychological warfare seriously. Remind me never to get on some of these girls' bad sides."

One by one the girls are called up to choose their opponents until the final leftover girls form a match-up of three.

── ⋆⋅💬⋅⋆ ──

"Yeolmae and I are the cuties avengers!" Sekai Kaori┋🕊️┋triumphantly announces. "I challenger her because we both have a similar image."

"I'm not thrilled about being unpicked," Ahn Mari┋🦚┋says. "I guess people don't really know me yet, but in our group there is only one winner and two losers so the odds are against me."

── ⋆⋅/💬⋅⋆ ──

"Phew! Now all of that business is done, let's get to the main event!" Chanhee says. "You can use any props and any sets and any outfits. Good luck!"

The girls rush into the warehouse with the most competitive girls springing for the outfit racks. Areum gasps as she enters the room. Nearly every inch is filled with clothing racks and she circles around in distress. "There is so much to choose from! How could I begin?"

Yeolmae has eyes as wide as saucers as she flits from rack to rack, pulling out more and more beautiful clothes. "We can pick anything?" She asks no one in particular. "These are amazing!"

Raon reaches them first and dives into a rack filled with black, edgy outfits. 

Kaida isn't far behind and she choses a rack with colourful elegant dresses. "Really? Black?" She says nonchalantly. "So predictable."

Raon smiles, holding open the curtains to one of the dressing cubicles, the black outfit slung over her shoulder. "That's a pretty dress but is a pretty dress really going to cut it?"

── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

Sunwoo and Plum stick together, holding up outs for one another. In the end it's Plum who finds the pretty flowery dress for Sunwoo and it's Sunwoo who finds a cool black pleather dress for Plum.

"Are you sure you don't want to do something more elegant?" Sunwoo asks, holding the black pleather dress up for Plum. "I don't think we have to stick to our team's concept for this mission."

"I want to try using what Hana taught me," Plum says. "I'm Corvus now so I can't hide behind what I'm good in. I have to get better."

── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

Chaeri, Mariya, Mia, Lorelei, and Chau are looking through the more elegant part of the wardrobe. Chau gasps as she finds a selection of gorgeous luxury purses.

Chaeri is holding up a suit with a mischievous grin. "I think I want to show them a new side of myself."

Meanwhile Mariya whoops as she's found a pair of pointe shoes. She glances at Chaeri and laughs as she sees her hold up a men's suit. "Girl you're going to give the gays everything they want."

Chaeri grows very red. "What? really?"

In the corner of the room there is an athleisure rack completely ignored by everyone except Aecha. "I don't get it," she says to the camera following her. "Athleisure is hot!"

Mia holds up two outfits, trying to decide between either. "Celine..." she holds up one. "Or Chanel..."

Next to her Lorelei gasps at a gorgeous pearl necklace and clutches it to her chest. "I am in heaven!"

Hyejin is looking through a rack of pretty dresses in frustration. She keeps pulling one out and then putting it back. "Most of these dresses are really nice but they're all really short!" she says. "I used to be a really intensive football player and I have the scars on my legs to prove it. I really love this vibe of the dress but it doesn't cover my legs... maybe I can ask for a closeup of my face?"

── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

Ari is the only one who picks a little bit from this outfit set and a little bit from that outfit set. She gravitates to the bright and colourful, mixing patterns that by the laws of nature should not works and yet when she comes out of the changing stall somehow everything fits together. She grins at her reflection and starts pinning her hair just so, adding bright clips and accessories.

Taeri walks around with ease, showing her experience. She emerges from the dressing room looking confident and dressed to the nines. "I want to go for a chic but trendy concept," she tells the camera trailing her. She looks absolutely in her element as she adjusts the beret just so on her head. She checks herself out in the mirror. "Perfect~"

Inhye, meanwhile, has put on a pretty blue checked summer dress with her bleached blonde hair braided back. She's unhappily looking in the mirror, fidgeting with her hair.

"Everything alright?" Chanhee asks, come to check up on the contestants.

Inhye startles. "S-sir! Oh, eh, it's fine I'm just not used to the hair yet." She fidgets more, wrapping the end of the braid around her finger. "I thought if I dyed my hair blonde I might feel more like an idol and then, you know, maybe the confidence and the charisma would follow after-" she shakes her head. "It was a stupid silly idea it doesn't suit me at all and it feels so fried."

Chanhee laughs softly. "Utterly obliterating your hair for the aesthetic is a very important part of the idol lifestyle," he says. "You should have seen when they made me go blonde it was horrible, I felt like the hair would crumble if I touched it. Before your next performance you should ask your stylist to put some product in it, it really does wonders."

"Really?"

"And for what it's worth, I think it suits you," Chanhee says. "I have to see if anyone else needs help but you should probably get started on your shoot. Good luck!"

Some girls have already gotten to the next step. Aera was very quick to decide her outfit. "It doesn't much matter what I wear," she tells her camera as she approaches the set with the white backdrop. "My face is what's important, I'm going for a dramatic close-up."

Kaida is dressed in her elegant red dress. She is briskly walking through the warehouse while talking over her shoulder to the camera about her vision. "I think many people will use the big elaborate sets," she says. "But I want to show that I don't need anything except me to capture the camera. I just need one look, that is the concept I'm going for. Like you in movies where the female lead looks over her shoulder and her face says a thousand words."

Alissa, meanwhile, is calmly discussing her vision with the photographer. "Can you edit the photos to be black and white? I want it to look like a classy but dramatic stage photo-"

Mariya is en pointe, showing off her ballet moves. She's dancing more than she is posing, but she is doing it so slowly and gracefully that the photographer is in awe.

"Work it Mariya!" Chanhee yells from the other side of the hall and Mariya briefly breaks character to glow at the acknowledgment. 

Nearby, Ara is already dressed up and ready and she watching Mariya, biting her lip and looking like she might regret her decision. Then she turns to a photographer. "I have an idea and it might be crazy but hear me out-"

Chanhee walks amongst the girls and spots Rosalynn looking extremely stiff as she attempts to pose. As she spots Chanhee she sighs in frustration. "Why is all this idol stuff so hard?!"

Chanhee laughs. "I hear you! When I debuted I didn't know anything except how to act it was torture. You pick it up quickly though when it's your fulltime job." He looks around until he spots a pair of apples and throws them at her. "Catch! Posing is a lot easier if you have a prop to focus on, gives you something to do with your hands."

── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

Aecha is the first to venture outside. She stretches in her form-fitting athleisure close and squints at the sun. "Of course I want a natural backdrop," she says. "It's hot girl summer time!" She starts posing and a handful of passersby swoon.

"Is it hot in here or am I crazy?" Chaeri asks, fanning herself.

"You're outside," Kaori points out.

Chaeri fans harder. "I have to inside I can't handle this."

Raon, meanwhile, is near a pedestrian tunnel holding a paint flare. "We can use this?" she asks. She accidentally pops one and smoke fills the air. It startles her so much that she drops the whole canister as smoke surrounds her. She looks alarmed at the camera. "You saw nothing." 

More girls soon follow suit. Yena looks ready to frolic with the flowers. She's busy picking a bouquet out of the wildflowers growing in the park.

Further down Bitnarae is approaching the tunnel but she looks very indecisive. Ari comes out of the warehouse and joins her. "Are you finished already," Bitnarae asks.

"I am," Ari says, still dressed in her colourful outfit. "You haven't even started yet have you?"

"I don't know where to begin!" Bitnarae says. She fidgets with her outfit.

"Oh come on, I still owe you for that time you covered for me at Cube." Ari walks to one of the waiting photographers. "Can I borrow your camera? Don't worry, I've a degree in visual arts and photography, I'll take care of her well." She manages to borrow the camera. "Now tell me what you had in mind-"

── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

Areum is panicking, pacing up and down and looking very insecure while girls around her are running back and forth. "I don't know what to do," she says. "Suddenly my mind is completely blank."

Mizu, a few sets over, is posing professionally. The photographer hardly has to give any direction, she knows exactly what to do. 

"I want to get really artsy with it!" Eunsun says. "I love those avant garde photoshoots that really work with silhouettes and emotion. I want to tell a story!"

── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

While most of the girls have already picked their outfits and are scoping out the sets, one girl remains behind. 

"Yeolmae?" Chanhee peeks into the outfit room. "What are you still doing in here, there's 40 minutes left!"

"What?!" Yeolmae squeaks. She looks at the dress she's holding and she's struggling to figure out how it works. "Stylist unnie?" she asks shyly. "Could you help me?" She holds up an outfit consisting of a black underdress and sheer teal layers on top.

By the time she's done there isn't a lot of time yet and she rushes to the white backdrop. Her inexperience instantly shows, but Yeolmae works through it with charm and a sincere, winning smile.

Yeolmae is the very last to finish. As the other girls each finish what they're doing they all gather around Yeolmae. As the final photograph is taken, Yeolmae looks up and startles as 30-odd girls are watching her (Rosalynn, notably, biting into an apple). "Ahhh! Sorry to keep you waiting!"

"Is that a wrap?" Chanhee asks. "I've seen some amazing shots being taken, I can't wait to find out how the photos turn out!"
